Walmart partners with Google on e-commerce.

Walmart is teaming up with Google to rub shoulders with Amazon on voice shopping, to enable people to order its products through Google Assistant.

Walmart is trying to help people shop in ways they've not yet imagined," Marc Lore, who heads Walmart's e-commerce efforts, said in a statement Wednesday.

The partnership is a direct challenge to Amazon's voice shopping with Alexa, which the company has been heavily pushing with promotions and discounts. It's also the latest example of how online shopping is forcing tech firms and traditional retailers to pool their resources.
